Thank you for shopping at Sarah the Homesteader! Please review our shipping options and policies before placing your order.

1. Shipping Availability (Illinois Only)

In accordance with Illinois Cottage Food Laws, shelf-stable food products are available for shipment within the state of Illinois only.

Orders placed with shipping addresses outside of Illinois will be canceled and refunded.

We currently offer Illinois shipping, local delivery, and local pickup.

1.1 Standard Shipping (Illinois Only)

Shipping rates are calculated at checkout based on order weight, package size, and destination within Illinois.

Estimated Delivery Time: 2–5 business days
Carriers: USPS or UPS (varies by order)

Delivery times are estimates and not guaranteed. Weather and carrier delays may extend transit times.

Shipping is available within Illinois only.

1.2 Local Delivery (Within 10 Miles of Morton, IL)

  • Delivery Time: 3–4 days

  • Delivery Fee: $5.00

  • Service Area: Up to a 10-mile radius from Morton, IL

You will receive an email notification when your order is out for delivery.

Customers are responsible for entering an accurate delivery address. If delivery cannot be completed due to an incorrect address or inaccessible location, a redelivery fee may be required.

1.3 Local Pickup (Morton, IL)

  • Pickup Location:
    Morton, IL 61550

  • Pickup Window: You will receive an email to schedule a pickup time and full address.

Orders must be picked up during the scheduled window. Missed pickups may require rescheduling or remaking perishable items at the customer’s expense.

2. Processing Times

Handmade Crafts

  • Ready-to-ship items: 2–4 business days

  • Made-to-order items: 5–10 business days

Baked Goods

  • Processing Time: 1–3 business days

  • Shipped Monday–Thursday only (to avoid weekend delays)

3. Perishable Item Shipping

During warmer months, certain items may require:

  • Insulated packaging

  • Ice packs

  • Priority or expedited shipping

If upgraded shipping is required, we will contact you before fulfilling your order.

4. Incorrect Addresses

Please verify your address at checkout. We are not responsible for:

  • Lost packages due to incorrect addresses

  • Delays caused by address errors

If a package is returned to us:

  • Customers may pay for reshipment

  • Perishable items cannot be refunded or replaced

5. Lost, Stolen, or Damaged Packages

Lost Packages

If tracking shows “delivered” but you cannot locate the package, please check:

  • Neighboring homes

  • Porch/garage/side door

  • Apartment office

  • With household members

If still missing, email info@sarahthehomesteader.com and we will help initiate a carrier investigation.

Damaged Packages

Notify us within 48 hours with photos of:

  • The damaged item

  • Packaging

  • Shipping label

Handmade items may be eligible for replacement.
Perishable items are final sale and cannot be refunded due to carrier damage unless insured shipping was purchased.

We do not offer international shipping at this time.
